I was asked to do some writing about my take on what is happening in the world. I will start by telling you a bit about myself.

I am a Canadian who has lived my entire adult life in Mexico.

I have watched the nation grow from a chicken filled dusty road perceived town to the metropolitan cities that beat any of their comparable kind worldwide.

I travel back to Canada often yet when on my way back to Mexico is when I feel I am going home.

I watch American news, teach English online in China, call myself a Canadian when convenient and truly have faith in the Mexican health care system.

I guess I am as Mexican as a tortilla.

When everything started happening around the world with the corona virus the biggest question everyone asked me and I asked myself is would I be returning to Canada to ride out the storm.

I stayed in my home in Mexico. Today the census Mexico came to my door to count my family and check if any of us were sick or showing symptoms. I am assuming they are doing this everywhere because I live out of town about 20 km.

A week ago, we only had 6 cases in the whole country. Today we have more and some deaths of course. It seems to be going slow but it dd everywhere else as well.

What are they doing here? Not much. The good news is many are staying at home but it is business as usual in all but the schools, universities and of course international companies. It is the car factories where most of the sick are now.

I am terrified things will get out of hand fast. The stores are fully stocked as the toilet paper hoarding does not seem to be an issue here, and the truth be told I think that most of the country has money only for day to day food.

What does this all mean?

I sure hope I don’t die from this virus cause the next year will be fascinating.

Will the world gain years on climate change?

Will companies notice the benefits from working from home and change the way wok is done worldwide?

Will the global world change drastically and borders marked even more?

Will we as a humanity stop buying and doing what is now being called non essential business?

I will start to write about all these questions and more . Please let me know your thoughts as we travel into the new world together.

Talk to you all soon.

Rox.

I have always been very opinionated about everything I know.

But for my entire life if I did not know something, I would call my sister and ask her what my opinion was. As we got older and started to have families our favorite pastime has always been creating businesses and solving the wolds problems over coffee of course.

So yesterday we spent two hours deciding what the world should do now to avoid complete economic shut down.

We came up with the idea of bracelets and testing everyone for the antibodies of different diseases, with COVID 19 being the top priority. Maybe in the form of a door to door home testing kit. They say that 70% of people will get this and not even know they have had it, but they would have antibodies. So, everyone who has had it, can circulate in the population normally. As each person gets it, they can have a pass of some sort to be able to go about their regular routines.

It may take a few weeks to get the program worldwide put together but look at what the world has done together. Never in history I do not think there has been such a huge worldwide movement. This display of togetherness on a global platform and yet separate from everyone using IT solely to communicate is a fascinating time. Maybe next time we have coffee we can talk about that too.

Cheers

  1. I fear if you have a device that makes a claim of which benefits you it will quickly be copied and used for nefarious reasons. The idea is sound but the delivery of its intent needs to be secured by unique identity test.
